‘Cause I Gotta Have FATE

Creative Concepting with a Beatboxing Break

Have y’all heard about Give Merit’s FATE Program for high school students? We were introduced to the program by the amazing Stevie Ansara of Woodward Original and had the opportunity to participate as Guest Creatives during their creative concepting workshop recently. Not only did we get to bounce around ideas with the incredibly talented students, we were treated to a rare and mind blowing beatboxing performance by Stevie himself. (Steve has skills on skills on skills.)

Here’s the gist: Each grade level tackles a semester-long project that simulates a professional track while practicing important skills such as teamwork and communication. For our part, we got to collab with the FATE 9th Graders who are creating a full marketing campaign complete a print ad and a :60 spot (Jealous much? We were too.)

At the end of the Spring semester, the Student Showcase gives them the opportunity to pitch their completed campaign to a panel of judges from the advertising community in Detroit.

I mean… 9th Grade Kate would have MUCH preferred this after school instead of Pioneer Girls. (What’s Pioneer Girls? Message me. We’ll chat.)

Creatives, Marketers, Advertisers… lend us your ears. Or just raise your hand to volunteer as a workshop guest or, if you’re fancy, a judge for the Student Showcase coming up this June.

Reach out to us at Sup@KMCreative.Studio and we’ll make an introduction for you.
