What’s Workin’? (Spaces)

Kitab Cafe and Bookstore, Midtown

We’ve been squatting in the recently opened Kitab Cafe and Bookstore in Detroit’s Midtown neighborhood at Cass and Willis (formerly Avalon Bakery) and let me tell you… this space is WORKIN’ for me.

Big south-facing windows meant tons of sunshine, which we’re all in desperate need of as we emerge from Michigan’s gray and overcast season. (Can we call it winter anymore? It didn’t seem very wintery.)

There’s books. There’s fresh Zingerman’s bread for tasty sammies. There’s La Colombe coffee (Chobani ‘til I die). There’s a friendly Detroit remote professionals and college student vibe midday on a Monday. Kitab is definitely workin’ for me.
