Rocket Mortgage’s roster of college basketball partnerships was growing, which meant the number of IPs to incorporate into the creative was too. That was challenge number one. Challenge number two was making the creative consistent with the “More than a House” brand campaign running at the time. Challenge accepted.

Buzzer Beater
The “Buzzer Beater” origin story starts with an actual Buzzer Beater moment. “Driveway” had already been picked up but another concept was needed. It was in the final minutes leading up to presentation time that we realized we needed to deliver one more concept and nothing was coming to us. We needed our own buzzer beater. And there it was. Fun Fact: Our “Buzzer Beater” lady actually caught that piece of confetti. A happy accident.

Driveway – :30
In “Driveway,” mascots brought a dad’s college hoop dreams to life during a friendly pick-up game with neighbors and later went on to win Silver in the 2019 New York Festivals Advertising Awards. Fun fact: The kid actually did make that shot in the end.
Pick-Me-Up – :15
Everybody together now in 3…2…1… AWWWWWWW! “When a pick-up game turns into a game of pick-me-up.” This script was a fun and heartwarming spin on the ask that got so much love we were approved to do a unique :15 rather than a cutdown.
Driveway – NBA CUT
FUN FACT: We got so much great coverage on the day of the shoot, we were able to do a bonus cut (sans mascots) specifically for placements during the NBA season.
